My ggg grandfather Thomas Bryant was born in c1803 in Stoke Lane Somerset. He maried twice (I think) I have found him on the 1851 census married to Emily and I think he was also married to Amy Tomlinson. I do not know what Emilys Maiden name was or who was the mother on the children on the 1851 census. I am guessing it was Emily. |

Perhaps one of the children's birth certificates will provide the answer. Looked for a Sydney Bryant born c1848 registered in Clutton, the registration district for where the family are living in 1851 and found this. |

This could be your Thomas married to Amy. Shows Sarah and Mary as her children. |

As Sarah & Mary are on the earlier census with Amy I would try ordering the birth cert of the youngest child on 1851. |

Could this be Thomas & Sydney with yet another wife? |

Thanks all, I knew you would come up with the information. I have struggled for days with this one, and just could not dislodge any bricks. |

Sydney,Eliza,Elizabeth,Sarah,Henry.mothers maiden name was Emery.I agree with jim think they are one and the same.No marriage listed for them as it must have been before 1837 |

I think we need a second opinion on the mothers name on 1861 census... |
