From the free to use (need to register) site giving mmn pre 1911. None shown here so indicates illegitimate. The name Morris may give a hint as to a Father (EDIT - no, see earlier post explaining the Morris name) |

Barbara didn’t respond to the info provided 14 years ago, so isn’t likely to be looking at this now. |

Hi there - obviously this is nealy 14 years ago now, but my mother is Gladys Bowes, daughter of Nellie Drane, daughter of Gladys Morris Drane - nee either Gill or Pearson - and we are trying to work this out as well! Gladys' death certificate states the maiden name Pearson, and we had previously thought 'Morris' was the maiden name. Recent research has also brought us to Martha J Gill, Martha J Smith and potentially a Martha Pearson, although no records can be found for the last. |

My great grandfather Charles Pearson (b. 1893) moved from Leeds (I'm led to believe) to Edinburgh with the Royal Field Artillery, he married Robina Stewart (m.1913) and resided in Edinburgh for the rest of his days. I would like to find out more about his exact place of birth/residence and his parents, William Walter Pearson and Martha Gill. Does anyone have a link to these people within their tree? |
