If the child was baptized, then it is possible that the parish baptismal register might contain some details of the father, even post 1837. |

David most people have illegitimate people on their tree it just means that you can only follow the maternal line. I've only been doing my family tree for just over a week so i'm sure that their are people on here with greater knowledge than me. |

I've got another one for you. How do you trace a history of someone you know was born outside of marriage and whose fathers name doesn't appear on the birth certificate [or marriage], just her mothers? |
