yes oct/nov/dec/1883 he was born 16 feb 1915 he died. in between he married? and had a son thomas c 1910 |

looking at birth indexes and only finding one Thomas for about 1884 the ww1 that Angela posted seems to be the one you are looking for and the only one to die was the 17 year old , oh dear what a tangle!!! |

yeah i have been on that thats how i found out about my gggrandad, and findmypast. but not who he married although i know he did i will have to just be patient and wait for next census i think. |

I have found a website for The Somerset Light Infantry and they have a roll of honour for all those who died in ww1 |

oh my!!! no my gramps told me his dad never remembered his dad because he was only 5 when his dad died in the war!! but my gramps cant remember his nans name.... which is what we were originally trying to locate!!! lol:) |

I found 1915 on Findmypast, military records soldiers died in 1st world war. 1917 one doesn't come up. Its very odd. If it is the same person and he was 17 in 1917, he'd have been very young to have a child in 1910!!! |

Did it say where Joan was born ? because the is also an olive who was born in 1935 i assume it would be in same area as they lived in porthkerry barry for all their childhoods. |

I have looked through freebmd and can find no other marriage for a Thomas Besley in the period 1898 to 1918. The father of the Thomas who married Elizabeth Vearncombe was Fred Besley which rules this family out. |

A Thomas Besley married Elizabeth Chiplin in the Wellington Records area in 1871 (according to freebmd). I dont have access to the parish records for this period. |
