Happy to do marriage look ups in Sussex before 1837.

Hi Giz,

Thank you for the offer. I wonder if you could find a marriage between Anthony Osborne (c1791) and Eleanor Eldrige (c1798). Their first child was born in 1821 so I would guess the marriage was around that time. The area of Sussex would be around Ewhurst. I'm sorry to be so vague but I know they lived in Ewhurst and that the children were born there. Any information would be great, thanks.

Oooh - that's a new name, not heard of that one before. Mind you there were a few Osborne families in Ewhurst but mainly later on. Perhaps they changed their minds if it was Banns only. Or she could have died. I know the one with Eleanor is the one that is correct for my Anthony. Thoug looking at the 1841 census they must have split up as she seems to be living with another man as her lodger! LOL.

Thanks for the information though, Giz. I'm not sure what to do with it. Can you get certs for that early?

Certs only came in in 1837 - before that it has to be the parishes. Just thought it might be useful or one of those that you put to one side and then ages later it suddenly clicks in place!!

Do you have anything for a William Martin, born Sedlescombe, Sussex in 1809. I believe he may have married an Ann.

If you have a sec, I have a Samson Roberts and a Mary Boxall...they had children and I'm presuming they married. Mary was from Slindon, Sussex. xx

Can't find a Samson Roberts. Nearest I could find was:

Smurf - can't find a marriage between James Martin and Mary Barnell. With regards the others will need more info as they are common names - can't just do a global search as way too many results.
