Thank you to both of you for the above. Agreed that automatic notification is not given, and indeed it took me a few days to find out about your replies. Appreciated, and this now gives me a good avenue to continue looking. Paul

Florence Ada Isherwood Birth Date: 30 May 1863 Baptism Date: 15 Jul 1863 Baptism Place: St Helier, Jersey Mother: Mary Judith Isherwood
The baptism (from Ancestry) has her as the illegitimate daughter, but names her parents as Mary Judith Isherwood and James Frederick Isherwood.
Added: There is a baptism for a Mary Judith Isherwood and another for a James Frederick Isherwood in the 1840's, and later separate marriages.

Just to add - if this is Nina Mat Murrow's birth, then the certificate should give her Father's name: Births Mar 1884 Murrow Nina May Southampton 2c 29

Hi Kate. I'm now interested in this thread; have you had any more information in the last few years, since you wrotye this, about the Murrow line? I'm interested in if Thomas's son, Thomas Hill Murrow (b. C1847) married; I have a line on his descendants, but cant make this link to a marriage. I believe he was a seafarer of some description. His daughter may have been Nina May Murrow (b. c1885), and she is recorded later in the census as either a ward, or as an orphan, which may align if he was at sea constantly, and/or the mother (u/k at this time) was absent/deceased. Any assistance you can give would be really helpful. Paul

Here's the IOW marriage - but she's down as Mary Groves. Looks like the registrar incorrectly recorded him as MARROW first then re-entered MURROW (often happened)

Presumably you have them in the 1881 census?......

I am trying to find the maiden name of his wife Maria. They were married in the Isle of Wight in June 1846 and had two children as far as I know, Eliza and Thomas. I have no infomation on Thomas senior's parents but I believe he was born in Tenby and Maria was born in the Isle of Wight, Hampshire. Can anyone help fill in the blanks please? Thanks, Kate
