Find Ancestors

I am trying to trace the family of Anne Thorpe b 1819 m 1843 to Joseph Mousley b 1818. They had several children and I only have the information of one of them William Thorpe Mousley who married Sophia Allday in 1872. They were my G Grandparents Does anyone have futher information either post this generation or earlier? Many thanks, Terry Read

I see that you don't seem to have had any response to your post, but if you are still interested, I can help you with Joseph Thorp Moseley, born 1845 Brixton Road, Kingsland, Middlesex. He married Clara Jane Marston in Aston, Birmingham, on 2 October 1867. I've traced the family through the censuses from 1851 to 1891 and would be happy to share the info with you. I am not a family member, but JTM was a member of the Birmingham Book Club (founded c1745) which I am researching. JTM was the President from 1896 to 1897 and remained a member until 1899. He then seems to disappear, so any help you could give would be appreciated. Could he have emigrated from the UK to join family members elsewhere?

Well, between you, you've made short work of that problem!
So Joseph Thorp Mousley became Joseph Thorp on arrival in Dorset, presumably having absconded from Birmingham in 1899 with Elizabeth Ann, his "wife" in the 1901 census. At least he did marry Hannah Guppy nee Robinson, albeit bigamously!
