Two of my gt gt aunts Ellen and Sophia stumbke (misspelled Stumble in 1861 census) boarded at a school run by Dorothy Bedgener in what appears to be Elm Cottage ( "Elm" hard to read) Sudbourne Suffolk . My family lived in Haymarket central London at the time, though their mother nee Susan Paxman was brought up in Saxmundham Suffolk. No obvious family living in Sudbourne in 1861 though Bedgener family members seem to have lived in London. Does anyone have informationon the school local enquiry thus far has drawn a blank |
