Can anyone please advise me where I can find a list of all british civilian prisoners, held in Russia during the revolution.
I believe my great grandmothers brother may have been such a prisoner, as he was repatriated on 1920 on the SS Dongola on the 22nd May 1920.sailing from Finland
(Tolstoy was on the same ship posing as his nannys illigitimate child) My ancestor was a photographer aged 63 at this time and although I dont know where in Russia he was living, i believe conditions for prisoners were horrendous. He is travelling with a 33 year old lady ,Maria who is listed on the ships passenger list as his wife, but this was not true as his wife was aged 67 and was called Victoria.I would be very interested to know which prison he was held in.
Many thanks
Sheila
