Hi all, can anyone help me find any information on William cir 1806 Penhow, Langstone, Monmouthshire area, and his family. On the 1841 Census William, Rebecca and children William 6, Valentine 4 & Rebecca 2 were named as Steder, on the 1851 William, Rebecca, William 15, Rebecca 11, James 9, Emma 6 surname was listed as Stidder - I am trying to find a marriage for Rebecca, and James. My family have always spelt their surname Steddar. Valentine is my ancester and I have a lot of information on him and his family. |

A little more help please, Sarah Ann Steddar b 1872, had two illegitimate children Wyndham b 1896 and Edith b 1900 at Langstone, is there any way to find out who fathered the children - the family think their father might have been Hezekiah ? Sarah married Thomas Davies in 1903, Edith married as a Davies, Wyndham remained a Steddar. |

These look like the birth registrations, both in the name Stidder. |

Anne of Green Gables has already given me the marriage of Rebecca to Abraham Hodges in 1858. Can you find a marriage of James Steddar born 1832? I have checked free bdm but am having trouble with different spellings of surname. |

Sorry I gave you wrong birth year, should have been 1842, I'm starting to think surname is stidder not steddar!! that would be a shock to the family |
