does anyone remember being in an orphanage is sussex called Avenue House in early 1920s which was attached to lewes workhouse.
My mums adopted name was simmons in her last few weeks alive she told me when she was little she lived with lots of other children in a big house in lewes. And was named after an irish girl called Kathleen. I have since found out she was adopted and trying to find out her real surname. can anyone help. thank you stan
