My granny was a very cloak and dagger type of lady. Everything was a secret so i guess she had a very dodgy past that she wanted none of us to know about.
Thing is i wanted to know when she was married. My grandfather died before i was born so i cant ask him and her daughter who is alive cant help me as she dont know.
Her name was Doris Sear and my grandfather was william sidney pickett. She was born 28th december 1913 and died july 2002. Her birth place was in edlesborough bedfordshire and her death was in dacorum hemel hempstead.
Im not sure if she married in dacorum but i do know my grandfather was a divorced man.
I know nothing at all about him. Not his date of birth, place of birth or age when he died.

Please help me if you can. Im going around in circles here. Also im very new to this gene finding so please be kind :)

Im sure that must be my Gran but why do they list her as being registered in the months of Jan-Feb-Mar 1914 when her date of birth is 28th december 1913 as on her death certificate.

Her mother was ellen Louisa Seabrook
Her father was David Sear
Her grandfather was jason Seabrook ( Ellen Louisa's father)
Dont know who Ellen Louisa's mother was as i cant find that out.

Doris Picket and William Pickett had 6 children. Two of them died. One was 4 months old i believe and the other was around 18 months.
The living children were

Catherine, Katherine, Cathelene, Kathelene( Not sure of spelling as this is all a big secret)

Ann Doris Pickett or Anne Doris Pickett

Marlene Barbara 17th August ???

William David Terence Nigel Pickett ( Died 1996) Not known

Richard Sidney Pickett DOB Not Known

Shirley Suzanne Pickett 29th November 1945

Anything else i can add please let me know but im limited on info as gran is now dead and i dont think any of her 12 other brothers and sisters are alive either.

her birth will have been registered in the 6 weeks following her birth - you wouldnt dash out and do it 3 days after christmas,reg office probaly shut anyway!- so went in the new year, when the next qtr had started - that is perfectly normal

really you need to send for the marriage cert to confirm her fathers name - i cannot see a Jason Sear in 1901 census anywhre, nor his birth

David, the Francis Sear marriage is the wrong one

At the moment, I can see 8 David Sear on 1901 census- all in the Herts /Beds area

Jason Seabrook is on the 1901 census with daughter Ellen.
In 1891 Jason and wife Mary A (poss nee Simmons) are with daughters Susannah and Ellen.

That has to be my grans grandfather as he was jason seabrook and i know he had a daughter they called Nellie so i assume that is ellen right? Im sure my gran stated she never married and ended up owning a house where she kept just chickens called mill house mill cottage or mill farm.

Now his other daughter should be Louisa Ellen but she went by the name Ellen. All confusing i know,lol.
