Rebecca Reece and Robert Carver got married. I guess The marriage must have been somewhere between 1845 and 1859. I have not yet found the marriage cert.
They had a number of children (all Carver) from 1859 to 1870 Georgina born 1859, Louisa born 1860, Frederick born 1862 , Clara born 1865 , Ada born 1866 , Amy born 1867 and Walter born 1870.
Thos. Walter Carver is my G. Grandfather and I can not find out very much about him. I have his marriage cert to my G Grandma, Ada Giles in 1906, which is correct, I also have a birth certificate and a death cartificate but I am not fully convinced they are the right ones!
I am looking for any decendants or relatives of the Reece or Carver family who may be able to help.
Georgina Carver married William Parry Louisa Carver married Reginald Houghton Ada Carver married John Houghton and that is all that I know.
Many thanks Caroline

Just found out that this is not the ONLY thread about this man..............and after doing so much searching.!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the OTHER one
Caroline 25th May 2009 16:26 Request review Thomas Walter Carver, married Ada Giles in 1906, I can not find any record of birth or death. We seem to think that there is a connection to Liverpool and the IOW, also we believe he was a Ship Steward and Coal Labourer. We also think he may have been "lost at Sea" Does this ring any bells?
Add Jeanette 25th May 2009 16:37 Request review How old was he when he married? Have you found him on any census returns?

I now have a marriage cert.
Thomas Walter Carver Married Ada Giles on 1/12/1906 He was 33 on 1st Dec 1906 so I guess he was born 1873
He was a Mariner, living in Cardiff (with Ada and Ada's parents!) at the time of his marriage.
His father was Robert Carver - an architect and already deceased by 1906
and I still can't find Thomas Walter Carver's birth or death!!!
Any more ideas please?
Many thanks Caroline

why on earth did you start more postings when I see that you do not in fact return to your original after Astra had so kindly found so much information for you = GR do not allow duplicate postings on the same family - you have three. I have nudged that May posting on to this page for you
there is a long running thread posted by Ginny pleading with members not tio post more than once on the same family - apart from the GR posting stickied at the top of the TTF board telling you exactly the same so there is no excuse for it really is there?

Hi Flick and Ann
I am sorry if I have upset you, I didn't mean to ........ and that I have made a big mistake!
I thought that as I was looking for "descendants or relatives" of the Reece or Carver family, that it was a new thread because I have searched the census and got the info I can find on Walter.
I have spent months and money trying to tie the information together. OK – so trying to tie the information in to just one post.......
I have searched all the census and I have loads of info but I am not sure what information you need me to post!
On the Birth cert I have – DOB 1870 - Walter's mothers name was Rebecca Carver formally Reece - but I don't know if it is the right family or not.
On Walter's marriage cert DOM – 1906 I have his fathers name as Robert Carver deceased architect. This cert is the right one but his age is 33 which makes the birth year 1873
I have a death certificate for a Walter Carver of 23 Ninian Park Road, Cardiff DOD 1944 The informant of Death was a: P. Wilford. Occupier: 30a Cowbridge Road, Cardiff, which is where Walter died. I wondered if this name or address means anything to any one?
I am looking for any descendants or relatives of the Reece or Carver family who may be able to help with knowledge of this or stories about a waywood great uncle?!?
Again, I am sorry if you are cross with me. I am just trying to get some proof as to whether all the informations I have is correct.
Please don't be so hard on people like me who are just trying to make sense of a past they don't know: my grandmother never knew her father and my mother never know her grandfather. I am trying to put it all together for my mum - before it is too late.
Many thanks Caroline

The point I find hard to grasp is why you would think that the birth cert dated 1870 for Walter refers to the man who married as Thomas Walter, and whose age would mean that he wasn't born until 1873.
Bear in mind that 'deceased' fathers on marriage certs were sometimes invented.
Also, that there were no penalties until 1875 for not registering births
If the marriage is definitely your relation, I would have thought you'd be looking for Thomas Carver.............
Perhaps you'd tell us what you know of the line you are researching............it might help us to understand the basis for your assertions .
Who was your grandmother? When and where was she born?
We'd like to help, but we need a firm base from which to start..............
