Late nudge

Anon Report 9 Aug 2010 00:27

Hi everyone! Have to confess I haven't followed all of the last 50 odd pages but perhaps someone can help and or advise please?

Have just a discovered the last child my Irish paternal grandparents had. He was called Michal Ernest McCloskey and was born on the 4th March 1917 in Cumber (Claudy) Londonderry Parents James McCloskey (farmer) mother Sarah (ne McKeever) Oddly an Irish aunt whom I never met but wrote to often, never mentioned him at all but gave me all the details of the rest of the family. He was dead by 1987 when I first started writing to her after my father died. His occupation was a farmer. I'm baffled by this I just remember hearing from my mother that this uncle was very tall and very blond which isn't much help and died young, but given his occupation he seems to have lived to adulthood.

Any tips also to when you are almost certain you have a relative on this site (4 matches so far) and they don't respond to messages? This person added the aforementioned aunt a few days ago! So far no response I suppose I should give up having tried 3 times. Maybe he doesn't want any living relatives! Bit frustrating though.

Sorry for being so long winded!

Maureen

If the messages are indicated by still being purple, then they've not been read.
Maybe they are on holiday

Just back from London and surprised this thread is still going.
Thought the new Genes Official Thread would mean that other help threads would now be redundant.

Am resurrecting this as I'm not sure anyone is reading the GR help thread.
