Find Ancestors

Still looking at this on and off! Found marriage of Martha in 1924 and assume there was another marriage between Mr. Pool and Mr. McGurie, as she seems to be Martha Stier and one of the witnesses was Mary Jane Stier. Was that marriage in Canada or UK?

Martha married McGuire in Canada, 25 Aug 1924,Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Are we saying she was married to Steir after Pool but before McGuire.

There is a record for a Martha Steir departing from Liverpool passenger list 1878 - 1960 however I can not view this.

I wonder if that is my Martha?

I though you might know about the Stier connection. I viewed the original marriage certificate, which gives her as a Widow with the surname Stier. Both Martha and the witness are living at the same address - 257 Rusholme Road, Brampton. Martha is said to be a Clergyman (?)

Thats correct but I was only aware of the marriage to Pool and McGuire. It never crossed my mind after finding the last marriage she was a Steir.

Am not finding that Martha Steir on passenger lists. I am able to view, but cannot find! Any more info that will help me find her?

The original shows John 'Steer' is a German national and is a Butcher.

Think she must have married him in Canada. Can find nothing in UK. Must have crossed the border back into Canada after landing in New York in 1920.

Assuming of course that this is 'your' Martha!!
