My father John (Jack) Hewson was born in 1917 and lived in Cheapside, Birmingham, as a boy. My grandfather, also John Hewson, died in around 1930; My grandfather's mother was called Ellen Hewson - she was aged 42 at the 1901 census, living in Stratford Place, Cattell Road, B'ham. I would like to find out her maiden name. There were several siblings, (G., Ellen, Lily, William, May) so there must be other descendants of the family out there! My paternal grandmother's maiden name was Kibble - Ada Amanda Kibble. She died in 1980 or 1981. She had siblings called Lily, Nell, Doris, Thomas Wrighton, Daisy, and Rose. Does anyone know these names - or has anyone traced the family back any further? |
