Dinas Powys is almost a suburb of Cardiff - nothing to do with Dinas near Pontypridd and Bridgend is too far away |

According to FreeBMD Powys was not a reg district in it's own right til 1974. |

Ok, had a look at my sheet, Dinas comes under the reg district of Cardigan 1837 to 1935. |

the village is called Dinas Powys - always has been called that - nothing to do with Dinas or Powys!!! they are entirely separate places |
