Hi, trying to locate Dorothy( nee Booth) or info regarding Dennis. I know he died in 1980 in Lincoln. Dorothy and Dennis married in Lincoln in 1959. |

This is the correct Dennis Lawrence Hartley. His first wife was Joyce Irene Ansell they married 1952. Not sure of the divorce date. They were my parents, it`s his burial place I need to locate. |

I have only found about the marriage in the last few days, would have to get the marriage certificate to confirm her maiden name. |

In 1980, I would imagine he was likely cremated. You could contact Lincoln Cemeteries and Crematoria who should be able to help. If there was a family grave that he was buried in, they should be able to tell you. |

This is correct, at the time of marriage he was in the RAF police and residing at Fitzwilliam Road Rotherham. |

It`s the marriage to Dorothy Booth that interests me, Joyce was my mother. I know where his location is now thanks to Lincoln bereavment service. I e mailed them yesterday afternoon and received a reply this morning. I am very grateful to them for such a fast response. |

What am I trying to find? Well, over the last week I have discovered that I am 30 years too late. Dennis and Joyce were my parents, their relationship so I was told ended at the time I was being born in Rotherham 1952. I never met him and know nothing about him I didn`t want to cause any grief to anyone so I just didn`t try to locate him. Part of me was saying never mind other peoples feeling but another part was saying don`t be selfish. Finally I would like to at least visit him where he is interred. Very soppy but it`s something I have to do. Looks like a trip to Lincoln this week. |

Oh, Cedric, I did not mean to be sarcastic, I just didn't know what else you wanted to know. |

Thank you Margaret, I now know he is at the crematorium in Lincoln. I hope to visit this weekend. Thanks for the flower idea, we were/are both Yorkshiremen so it`s got to be a white rose. I will keep you informed, once again thank you for your kind comments. |

Thank you Julia, not sure what emotions I am feeling at the moment. Very odd `cos I never thought I would feel too much, not felt anything like it before. |
