I have traced my Gilpin ancestry to Whitehaven, where I have my William b c 1733/4 (don't know where), who was a Weaver. In 1762 he was living in Charles Street in a house owned by yet another William Gilpin, and I know that at some stage, the William Gilpin who owned the property had to sell it, as per The Cumberland Paquet. |
