Im a beginer and reseached my family name GALVIN, back to William Galvin b c1824. I know he was born in Ireland, but dont know where, and moved to Halifax where he married Mary Hunt, had his children and died in c1886. I would be very interested in help at finding where in Ireland he was from and hopefully go back further in my tree....thanks Steve |

Have you tried the Familysearch site? Would help if you have his father's name from the marriage cert too. |

if you stick "Galvin Family, Ireland" in the search box you will get stacks of websites but as you can see, the few I have printed off - they are from all over Ireland so pretty useless really!! sorry! |

My aunt married a John Galvin and they lived in Swords,Co.Dublin where my cousin has a builders merchants.I believe John was originally from Cork. Mike Carpenter. |
