My Grandmother's marraige Cert says:
Nellie Colley (19) married a Karim Bukhsh (31) (Marine Fireman) on 14/03/1930 It also says that her father was John Lewis Colley was Deceased (Coal Trimmer)
Karim Bukhsh's father was Rehm Ali (Farmer)

On my fathers Birth Cert (24/01/1934) it says:
Mother: Nellie Karin Bukhsh Formaly Colley
Father: Abdul Gani (Ships Fireman Merchant Service)
Both living at 32 Loudon Square, Cardiff.

I can not find a birth cert here in Cardiff for her or a death cert under the name of Colley or Bukhsh ?
Can anyone help ?

The number of times I have received marriage certificates where either or both parties do not know their ages astounds me.

No nothing I only have my fathers Birth Cert and his mothers Marraige Cert so nothing to say where she was born.

My father was taken to the valleys during the war and was never collected :-(
So he was given the name of David Lloyd which is what he known as today.
He dosent know what happend to his mother ?
Ive been looking for Nellie Colley father John Lewis Colley but cant find a thing ?

Im sure ive looked at that 1907 Birth Cert in Cardiff but it didnt give John Lewis Colley as the father ?

According to the BMD 'Karim Bukhsh' was his surname....?

ahhhh and on his actual entry his name is Bukhsh Karim.

Seems someone had the inability to understand which word was his surname and added both...!!

So his name was Bukhsh Karim?
