You can find the info on:

Digitalarkived.no

All the registers are in Norwegian, but the headings can be translated, I think.
I can send you scanned copies if you like.

Just send me your email addr. as a PM

I had a good look at the info about the family in Norway ............and the only thing is that the name Gran seems to be missing.........all the other names are there Carl/Karl Eward/Edvard... Iverson. I don't really know how the Norwegains go about naming and re-naming there children.
More puzzled,
Pam Gran !

Thanks to all of you who have helped me this morning. I have now got on to the Digilarkivied.no site and been able to get into the parish records......this is really great. ! I was told that the family may have come from the municipality of Gran which is about 50 kilometers from Oslo so I can now check the records there as well. It may also mean that the family just tagged the name Gran on to the family name of Iverson to denote their origins when Carl came to England.
Bye the way Gran means "Spruce Tree" so it's like Smith ..........in Norway !!!!
Thanks again,
Pam Gran

Hi Pamela,
I have sent you some images - will send more later.

I cannot explain why he used the name "Gran". He may have lived on a farm called Gran at some time or another. That was very commen, people took the name of the place they lived as an extra surname

Another little thing- In Norway a "sen" surname would be - sen -, not "son" - that would be Swedish.

Hi All,
I'm still on the tail of Carl Wilhelm Iversen Gran and when he came to England..............I now think he may have come here under the name of Carl Iverson. Can anyone look up this name please.
Regards,
Pam

Hi Pamela,
As Carl Iverson did he ever visit France?

Pamela

Pamela Report 27 Oct 2010 15:14

Hi Perchino,
It's possible he may have stayed in France. He may have made his way over land to England from Norway. My husband's grandad was never very forthcoming about his family......he fell-out with his mother at a young age, joined the marines at the age of 17 and never went back home.
Regards,
Pam

Hello Pamela,
I see that it's been a long time since this thread has been active, but I've just entered this webpage, and find that this is my family and I might have some interesting information.
My grandgrandfather was August Ludvig Iversen, a brother to Carl Edvard Wilhelm Iversen, born in Horten 19.10.1847, dead in Horten 28.11.1894. Their father was Carl Emil Johan Christian Iversen, born in Copenhagen in 1816, and married to Olea Johannesdatter from Enebakk in Norway. I have gathered a lot more information, but have not put it all together yet.
Best regards Marit Bull Enger Grande, Norway
