Brennans of Greater Manchester with Irish Roots

Insanewomble Report 22 Mar 2010 09:36

I am trying to locate various distant relations that are descendants from my great, great, grandfather James Brennan 1842 whose son born Patrick 1872 in Raith, Aghamore, Mayo, Ireland moved to Bury and married there in 1898. Patrick had ten children many of which were male and may have continued the Brennan lines. I have traced three Brennan lines including my own but have seven more here to trace and James Brennan 1842 had other children than Patrick, these were Mary, James and Catherine. They may also have left Ireland, that I am uncertain of. Their descendants I am also trying to trace.

Some family relatives have birth and marriage records in the following areas of Greater Manchester as it is now known:-

Stockport, Gorton, Accrington, Ramsbottom, Bury, Salford, Crumpsall, Heywood, Edenfield, Tottington, Ainsworth, Radcliffe, Rochdale, Heap bridge, Limefield, Elton and other surrounding areas of Manchester.

Old records may show Manchester, Lancashire and even Lanchester as County if not the local area.

If you think you may be a descendant and may have lost the surname via marriage, please also reply to this thread. We can do some digging to see if links up.
