I have discovered that my father may have served with a man named Beart, whose father was named Salmon Beart Salmon owned a shop near Marble Arch. They were in the middle east and may have been cousins I would love to be able to prove it dad was Fl/LT L A V Smith...dad told me that the man had been put on a charge for negligence but because he knew this man to be reliable he repeated what the man said he'd done and got the same result some fault in gun cotton I believe...the 'fizzer' was dropped.
