Once as much has been done to contact people as we can do, we can do another list to show which names have produced a response from PMs or hot matches. Give it a couple of days maybe.

Of the messages I've sent out (4 PMs about 3 names in trees), 3 out of 4 haven't been opened. :(

1) Pick a name from the list that is not currently being researched by anyone else - post a note on the thread saying how you are researching

2) check CWGC for info about the victim

3) try and find DOB , place of birth of victim and any relatives

4) send PM to "Bethnal Green Tube Disaster 1943"

Post a message here *whether or not* you find a match in a GR tree, so that I can update the list on page 1, and no one duplicates.

Please do send a message to the tree owners if you find a match. There are undoubtedly lots of people who don't receive / read Hot Match messages from GR.

The only thing I would add to Victoria's revised version of the model message is that it would be wise to name the victim in question.

I just sent a PM to someone with the brother of the mother of a victim with a completely different surname in her tree. I explained how I'd determined the connection, because if the tree owner didn't know of her person's sister's marriage and children, it would have been very confusing. ;)
