Hi Everyone, If you're asking for advice/help what is the best message board to post it on? I'm never sure. Should you try all of them?. I've recently discovered from the 1911 census that my grt-granddad,George Allen, although married in Middlesex in1904,was born in Antrim Northern Ireland. From his M/C I knew that his father was called Ezekiel and that Ezekiel was a bricklayer, but had never been able to trace the family. Now I know why!. I think that I may have traced George's birth on 29/06/1876 via AncestryIreland.com and this more or less ties up with his age on his M/C. His parents look to be Ezekiel & Mary Jane Moore married in 1874. The widowed Ezekiel then re-marries (I think) to a Jane Mahood. Apart from George there are several children from both marriages that I am trying to trace to find out what happened to them. They are;Mary Jane 1875,Julia Ann,1878,Robert Henry 1879,William Moore 1880,Frederick Campbell 1885,Florence Eugenia 1886,Maggie 1892 & Rebecca 1896. Found Ezekiel in 1911 with wife & three of his children. I believe Florence went on to marry a 'Garvie' but have no further details. Have had some terrific help from someone on the Records Office board-he/she found both of Ezekiels marriages for me & his probable death on 11/04/1935,aged 83 and would love to try & trace any of George's siblings or find out anything else about this family. Have tried IGI which gave some but not all of Ezekiel's children.
Regards
Coreen
P.S.I have been searching for George's origin for four yrs and had virtually given up so am quite excited by my recent discoveries. You never know when you'll find something - so keep chipping away at those brickwalls.
